Growing in Faith at Westminster Woods
At Westminster Woods, campers are encouraged to engage in several different styles of worship. Everyone at camp begins their day with Morning Watch, which allows for either individual or small group Bible study and reflection. Both morning and evening chapel includes praise and worship services that allow for campers to connect with God through song, prayer, teaching, journaling, and more. It is powerful, moving, and so much fun--when talking with campers about their experience, they identify chapel as their favorite part of camp more often than anything else! Each evening ends with a traditional vespers service and cabin devotions, encouraging quiet reflection and then conversation.
Fun at Westminster Woods
Each day is filled with fun, wild, and crazy games and activities that leaves campers with laughter and a desire to attend camp again and again. They have the opportunity to choose from various activities like swimming, canoeing, paddleboards, nature walks and hikes, ultimate frisbee, and basketball, as well as indoor activities like board games, crafts, and many others. In addition, our incredible rec staff organizes a ton of awesome camp-wide activities each day that promote a sense of fellowship and community.
Safety at Westminster Woods
Each staff member at Westminster Woods is selected for their Christian commitment, their love of youth, and their desire to share their beliefs. The summer staff undergoes intensive staff training for two weeks prior to any campers’ arrival, learning spiritual development and mentorship practices as well as emergency procedures, safety protocol, and first aid. While encouraging campers to learn and grow, camp counselors come alongside the campers to serve as good role models by providing strong examples of faith, accountability, and friendship. Their love of Christ and how that influences the guidance they provide helps each camper feel loved and accepted in an environment that is safe emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Westminster Woods is a modern camp with modern facilities. The camp meets the industry standards for safety and accountability. *Member of Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Association
